ASHLEY HEINRICHS

Ashley is a passionate vegetable gardener and loves eating and cooking with the spray-free produce she grows. She grew up doing farmer's markets with her family and fully embraced the gardening lifestyle at a young age - there was no morning too early to get up and start harvesting or weeding!
​
As an adult, she started becoming more involved in her parents cattle operation, helping with chores, calving, pasture rotation, and socializing our cattle so they get to know us as humans. We also started selling our grass fed beef through Root + Sprout in 2020.
​
When she's not out helping on the farm, you can find Ashley adventuring with her daughter Aubrey, practicing yoga, dreaming about what renovations they should tackle on their house next, eating chips, and binge watching The office on Netflix.
CALAN HAY

Calan is the biggest help and is always willing to chip in where ever he's needed. You'll often find Calan taking care of Aubrey while Ashley is harvesting for market pickup, or helping Ashley's dad, Don, with whatever needs to be done on the farm. Calan is often referred as "the muscle" on the farm.

Calan also creates all of the beautiful labels and stickers you see on our packaging!
DON HEINRICHS
COW/CALF FARMER, GARDEN MAINTENANCE, PRODUCE WASHER GRANDPA DUTIES
Don is the heart of the farm. Our gardens are located on the family farm where Don grew up and still resides; about 30 minutes south of Brandon. He runs a cow/calf operation that includes about 100 head of cattle. Don takes a lot of pride in his herd; he has raised every animal from birth and knows all of their personalities and dispositions. He spends a lot of time selecting cattle to fit the grass-fed beef program of Root + Sprout so our customers are getting the best beef out there.

In his spare time, Don enjoys restoring antique, John Deere tractors, welding, and fixing just about anything! Don also loves spending time with his grandchildren, checking the weather forecast often and napping!

LIANE HEINRICHS
MEAL PREP, GRANDMA DUTIES
Liane is the heart of the farmhouse and keeps us all fed and watered! In her spare time, Liane enjoys going to yoga, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.
AUBREY HAY
CUTENESS MANAGER
Aubrey arrived in May 2021 and has been in the garden ever since! Aubrey reminds us to take much needed breaks and is always bringing a smile to faces far and wide! In her spare time, Aubrey loves following the farm cat, PB around, exploring and pulling out new plants, and riding in her little red wagon restored by grandpa!
